We began our weekend with a bit of breakfast, and then we were off. We had our list, we checked it twice (and twice more). We knew what stores, and the names on our list. We had our gift ideas, and we knew what to buy. According to some advise I have read, we are one of the few people who have done it right this year. The plans say to have your list of names, stores, and gift ideas, and to not buy for yourselves. Well, guess what? We did damn good. It is still 39 days until Christmas, but T.J. and I are DONE with our shopping already. And, do you know how amazing it feels to be done?
Our list consisted of 27 people to buy for, this is includes family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. We spent 7 hours on Saturday and 5 hours on Sunday shopping for these 27 people who made our list. We hit 18 stores; Costco (twice) , Shopko, Kmart, Target (twice), Kohl’s (twice), the dollar store (twice), Bed Bath and Beyond, TJ Max, Tuesday Morning, Radio Shack, Best Buy, Joanne’s, Game Store (forgot the name), and Sears Grand. I am pretty sure I might be missing one, but who knows lol. We got amazing deals, , and got home with the purchase of 48 perfect gifts for our loved ones. We only ended up buying 3 things for ourselves (not included in those 48 gifts).
Neither one of us has ever had Christmas shopping done this early on. Though, I am still waiting on T.J.’s gift to be shipped, and he is waiting on mine to be shipped as well, but overall we are so happy we are all done. Now, we will spend a day removing price tags, and DAYS wrapping presents. This year, we have a four foot tree, and we will be making our own ornaments to be made out of beer bottle caps (blog about that with pictures to come later). Our Christmas tree will have lots of wrapped presents under it for all of our loved ones and it will span the bar room I am sure 🙂
We will be relaxing for the rest of the year, and eating top ramen for the next two weeks, but we won’t have to go into another store to shop for presents again this year. We may still go shopping on black Friday, but that will be for us! I hope everyone has an amazing holiday season this year and that everyone loves the gifts we got them.
